Optarus undertakes one-off commissioned assessments for organisations that need a defined question answered—not simply more reporting. Each engagement is scoped around the client’s requirement, available evidence, decision context and intended use.
Select the service that best matches the decision requirement. If the question crosses more than one category, Optarus will confirm the most suitable scope before work begins.
VTRA is a pilot assessment available by enquiry. MICA and the Regional Commercial Exposure Brief are scoped introductory services, subject to accessible lawful evidence and delivery feasibility. No commission is automatically accepted. Fictional demonstrations show presentation only; they do not establish commercial validation. Published price ranges are indicative; the fee, scope, date and deliverable are agreed in writing before engagement.

View humanitarian serviceWhere relevant, commissioned assessments can incorporate publicly identifiable sanctions, regulatory, insurance and enforcement exposure as part of the wider commercial-risk picture. Optarus provides contextual open-source intelligence, not legal advice, sanctions clearance or a definitive compliance determination.
Before accepting payment, Optarus must confirm the defined question and intended use; receipt of required client information; access to relevant primary and corroborating sources; understood data gaps; an achievable delivery date; capacity for independent source, editorial, formatting and publication checks; and satisfactory written contracting terms and commercial protections. If an essential condition fails, the commission must be declined or narrowed before payment. Findings are not invented to meet a quoted scope.
Optarus does not offer proprietary AIS feeds, continuous vessel tracking, 24-hour watchkeeping, guaranteed satellite collection, dedicated HUMINT networks, privileged government intelligence, navigational instructions, sanctions clearance, insurance determinations or safety certification. These are not optional extras.
Tell Optarus the vessel, incident, commercial exposure or humanitarian operating question requiring assessment.
Optarus confirms the intelligence requirement, deliverable, timescale and fixed fee.
Subject to feasibility, accessible official, operational, local, commercial and specialist open sources are assembled, compared and evaluated by the analyst.
The agreed assessment may include evidence, uncertainty, confidence and conditional indicators. Length, findings and specific visuals are not guaranteed.
Commissioned work is analyst-led and based on information lawfully available from public and open sources at the stated intelligence cut-off. Client-supplied information may be incorporated where agreed and lawfully usable.
Where relevant and supportable, an assessment may include verified geographic-reference material using a suitable real-world basemap to assist interpretation. It does not claim proprietary AIS, satellite, SAR or RF feeds; GIS services; guaranteed bespoke mapping; privileged government or intelligence-community access; investigative powers; or continuous vessel surveillance. Missing information is identified as a collection gap rather than inferred as fact.
Assessments provide decision support. They do not constitute legal, insurance, financial, navigational or operational instruction, and they do not tell a client whether it should sail, trade, deploy or proceed.
Open-source assessment of credible threats to organisations, personnel, premises and business activities, where sufficient lawful evidence is available. The requirement, intended decision and evidence limits are agreed first. This is analytical decision support, not a protective-security service, investigation, continuous monitoring or operational instruction.
Request an AssessmentInclude your organisation; country or region; proposed activity or exposure; principal intelligence questions and decision context; and preferred timescale. Do not send highly sensitive information by ordinary email before agreeing a suitable transfer method.
An enquiry does not create an engagement. Scope, availability, timescale, fee and deliverable must be confirmed in writing before work begins.
Acceptance is subject to evidence availability, delivery feasibility and the pre-payment acceptance checks. No commission is automatically accepted.
